About Vanessa:
Vanessa Goodman acknowledges that she lives, works, and creates on the ancestral and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō, Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Simon Fraser University and is the artistic director of Action at a Distance Dance Society. She is drawn to art that carries meaning beyond aesthetics, using choreography as a means to explore liminal expressions within the human condition. Her choreographic practice weaves together generative movement and sonic embodiment to create immersive performative environments. Through her work, she seeks to cultivate intimacy between the body and its surroundings, challenging conventional forms of performative hierarchy through collaborative approaches. She has received several awards and honours, including The Iris Garland Emerging Choreographer Award (2013), The Yulanda M. Faris Scholarship (2017/18), The Chrystal Dance Prize (2019 & 2024), the Schultz Endowment from the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (2019), The Isadora Award (2025) and participation in the "Space to Fail" program (2019/20) through Hyde Productions (NZ), Critical Path (AU), and The Dance Centre (CA). Longstanding collaborations include "Graveyards and Gardens" with Caroline Shaw, "BLOT" with Simona Deaconsecu, and multiple works with Loscil (Scott Morgan), Brady Marks, and James Proudfoot. Sarah Finn (she/they) is a performer, writer and multimedia artist making theater and film. Their work plays with found + original text and media, puppetry, clown and movement, to create landscapes of humor & freak-out. Her solo show Is this the right thing to be doing? was presented at Portland Institute of Contemporary Art in 2024, and its full-length version will premiere in Vancouver in September 2025. Their performances & films have been presented at festivals in North America, Czech Republic, Germany, and Japan, as well as venues in New York, including Anthology Film Archives and Mabou Mines, where they received a Brooklyn Arts Council Grant, MAP Fund Microgrant, and were a resident-artist at Mabou Mines and Object Movement. As a collaborator, they work as a designer, dramaturg, director and performer. Alison Denham lives in Vancouver where she teaches Pilates, studies Somatic Experiencing, is raising her daughter in a supportive East Van community, and as often as possible, runs the trails in North Van and swims in Lynn Creek. Her work as a dance artist spanned two decades and she had the pleasure of being a company member with Dancemakers, in Toronto, early in her career. Throughout her time as a performer she worked with many choreographers who all brought new ways of moving and thinking into her life. The list is long but to name a few... Peggy Baker, Peter Chin, Alvin Erasga Tolentino, Lola Mclaughlin, Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg and Justine A. Chambers. Ali loves one on one time with people and long luxurious hugs.

About Vanessa:
Vanessa Kwan is an artist, producer, and curator with a focus on collaborative, site-specific and cross-disciplinary practices. They are currently Director + Curator, Gallery and Exhibitions at Emily Carr University on unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh territories (Vancouver, Canada). They have worked in artistic leadership roles since 2003, contributing to organizations such as grunt gallery, the Vancouver Art Gallery, Other Sights for Artists’ Projects, Access Gallery, Powell Street Festival and Out On Screen. They regularly write, speak and publish on art and culture, and since 2017 have been producing residency projects across the Pacific Rim (Vancouver, Seoul, Melbourne and Sydney) exploring artist-led creative exchange. About Adam:
Now based in Vancouver, Adam was born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada. He started writing professionally in his early twenties, as a radio columnist for the CBC Morning Show. In that time, he also became Newfoundland’s youngest ever winner of both the Arts and Letters Award for Fiction, and the George Story Medal of Excellence in the Arts.
Adam then moved west to study – and eventually teach – at Vancouver Film School. His films have since screened as official selections at festivals including California’s Newport Beach Film Festival, the National Screen Institute’s Online All-Star Reel, and the Vancouver International Film Festival – where Float took home the honours for Best Canadian Short in 2012. In 2016, Conocerlos: Get to Know Them earned him his first BC Film Award nomination for Best Screenwriting.
In dance, Adam is an associate artist with All Bodies Dance Project. His choreography and collaborations have featured at festivals including Vancouver's 12 Minutes Max, Victoria's SKAMpede, and Calgary's Fluid Festival. His current residency at The Dance Centre finds him working alongside TJ Dawe, Su-Feh Lee, and longtime collaborator Naomi Brand on a new solo piece: Good Bully. Beyond his residency, Adam is also part of New Works’ CanDance Exchange and Propeller’s Digital Disability and Dance initiative in Ottawa.
In the theatre, Adam is a Jessie Award winning actor whose west coast performance highlights include productions of his own shows, Last Train In and Lights, as well as Touchstone Theatre's Kill Me Now, and Realwheels Theatre's CREEPS. Looking ahead, his latest play, Saturday Nights at Axles, is in development at Realwheels, where he is now Co-Artistic Director.

About Nicole:
Nicole Rose Bond began her formal dance training at York University, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Dance cum laude in 2005 after being awarded the Grant Strate Award in Dance in 2003 and 2005 respectively and the Harry Rowe Bursary in 2004. Nicole was also featured in The Toronto Star, Arts & Entertainment, Dance’s Class Acts of ’05, as one of “Ten Promising Young Dancers to Watch” in January of 2005.
Nicole has felt privileged to perform works by esteemed choreographers including Peggy Baker, Patricia Beatty, Tom Brouillette, Susan Cash, Bill Coleman, David Earle, Danny Grossman, Ryan Graham Hinds, Christopher House, James Kudelka, Learie McNicholl, Andrea Nann, Yvonne Ng, John Oswald, Peter Quanz, Peter Randazzo and Andrea Spaziani.
Nicole has had three cross country Canadian tours with the Toronto Dance Theatre [TDT]: performing ‘Rivers’ in 2012; ‘Eleven Accords’ in 2014 culminating in a 2014 Dora Mavor Moore award nomination for Best Ensemble Cast – ‘Eleven Accords’; and in celebration of the TDT 50th anniversary following the company’s tour of Medellin and Bogotá, Colombia in 2017, the TDT toured Canada a third time in 2018.
Following the world debut of ‘Who We Are In The Dark’ in Toronto in 2019, Nicole toured with Peggy Baker Dance Projects along with Sara Neufeld and Jeremy Gara of Arcade Fire to other Canadian cities as well as Den Haag, Netherlands and Guanajuato, Mexico culminating in a 2019 Dora Mavor Moore award nomination for Best Ensemble Cast – ‘Who We Are In The Dark’.
Whilst residing in Toronto, Nicole has worked as a course director in Graham Technique and Contemporary Dance at York University, Canada’s National Ballet School and has taught dance classes and workshops within the Toronto School Board. Nicole has also served on the Toronto Arts Counsel Advisory Panel and as a member of the Dance Collection Danse ‘Encore: Hall of Fame’ Committee and the Heliconian Club.
Since moving to Vancouver three years ago, Nicole has been teaching at Arts Umbrella, Modus Operandi and Simon Fraser University and has served as resident choreographer for three independent plays. Nicole’s choreographic debut in 2022 is now a permanent fixture of Arts Umbrella’s annual ‘Mixed Nuts’ repertoire.
Nicole is passionate about the pedagogy of the Graham Technique whilst honouring those who have come before her. Nicole is beyond grateful that her vocation encompasses doing what she loves and is humbled by, and indebted to, the unique and beautiful arts community that she calls home.

About Amanda:
Amanda Sum (she/her) is a performer and creator who dances between theatre and music. Amanda has collaborated on many interdisciplinary theatre based works which have brought her to perform and present works at the Smush Gallery (Jersey City) at On The Boards (Seattle) Fury Factory Festival of Ensemble and Devised Theatre (San Francisco) and Summerworks (Toronto). As an actor Amanda’s recent credits include 4 seasons of the East Van Panto (Theatre Replacement) and Sense and Sensibility (The Arts Club). Amanda's debut indie-pop album New Age Attitudes was released in the fall of 2022. Her music video Different Than Before (directed by Mayumi Yoshida) was JUNO-Nominated for Music Video of the Year and won the SXSW Music Video Jury Award (2023). As Theatre Replacement’s COLLIDER Artist Amanda created New Age Attitudes: Live in Concert. Part pop-up book part performance this experimental theatre piece premiered in the spring of 2023 and is touring this year. She is releasing a new EP in the summer of 2024. Amanda holds a BFA from SFU.

About Erika:
Erika Mitsuhashi is an interdisciplinary artist and performer living and working on the unceded, ancestral, and occupied, traditional lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nations of the Coast Salish peoples, known as Vancouver, British Columbia. She studied at Simon Fraser University School for the Contemporary Arts receiving a BFA (hons) in dance.
She has had the pleasure of interpreting the work of dance artists including Justine A. Chambers, Ziyian Kwan (Dumb Instrument Dance), Sasha Kleinplatz (Wants&Needs Danse), Rob Kitsos, Vanessa Goodman (Action at a Distance) and Judith Garay (Dancers Dancing) in festivals and platforms such as Vancouver International Dance Festival, Dancing on the Edge Festival, Re-FUSE presented by the Vancouver Art Gallery and PuSh International Performing Arts Festival 2020.
Erika’s work has taken the form of performance for stage, installation, experimental film, site specific/responsive performance, scenography and projection design. Most recently she has been experimenting with live-stream video and digital spaces as sites for intimacy and choreography of attention.
Her work and collaborative projects have been presented locally and internationally by PAUL Studios Berlin, Powell Street Festival, Toronto Love-In’s PS:We are All Here series, Surrey Art Gallery’s InFlux, Kinetic Studio’s Open Studio Series, Shooting Gallery Performance Series, Upintheair Theatre’s rEvolver Festival and La Serre's OFFTA festival of live art. She has been supported by organizations including New Works, SummerWorks, VIVO Media Arts, plastic orchid factory, Dance West Network, Boca De Lupo, Theatre Replacement and Company 605 in the creation and development of her works to date.
Locally she engages with two diverse collaborative groups:Mardon + Mitsuhashi and Erika Mitsuhashi & Francesca Frewer.
